Truly enchanting apartment in a private chapel of the Strozzi-Riccardi family. Fully decorated with antique furniture. The Chapel was built in the eighteenth century and restored in neoclassical style.

Originally a private chapel of the Strozzi-Riccardi family, the one-bedroom accommodation has recently been carefully restored to its original state and retains its original beauty and charm.

The Chapel has been fully decorated with antique furniture and terracotta floors by the owners who live nearby .

Interior is about 50 mq (530 sqft). There is a living room with full kitchenette, one double bedroom (queen-size bed) located in the chapel's original nave decorated with original frescoes, and one bathroom with shower.

The Chapel is independent from the owners Villa, who live next door and has a wonderful atmosphere: it is particularly suitable for a couple looking for a refined cultural experience, and who want to stay in a unique historic place.

The owners occasionally allow four people to stay in the Chapel, and can provide an additional bed. Price on request.

The amenities include heating in winter, CD player, and TV.

Extra amenities include telephone calls, additional linen changes, maid service, ironing, concierge services, and Tuscan dinner with wine. (price on request).

Guests can relax in the garden, in the park and in the private court of the owners villa. 

During the Renaissance the Stozzi family was competing with the Medici family for riches and power.
In 1489, in order to show his great power, Filippo Strozzi commissioned Benedetto Da Maiano and Simone del Pollaiolo, called "Cronaca" to build Palazzo Strozzi, in the centre of Florence, and it became one of the most significant examples of Italian architecture of the Renaissance.
In Florence it is still possible to admire the Villa Strozzi of Via Pisana, surrounded by a wonderful public park.
Villa Strozzi-Riccardi in Settignano has belonged to the same family for 6 centuries.
Its history tells us that in 1379 the Villa was already in the possession of the Strozzi Family. 
In the second half of the sixteenth century, Count Piero di Carlo of Andrea Strozzi made some changes that gave the villa its present appearance.
At the beginning of the eighteenth century the Chapel was built, replacing a smaller one that was inside the Villa, and it was decorated with ceramics by Della Robbia (today lost).
In 1871 after the death of the Marquis Carlo Riccardi Strozzi, the Villa was inherited by part of the Strozzi family in Mantova.
After the death of the last member of the the Strozzi family (marquis Uberto) the entire property was uninhabited for many years, and has only recently been restored to its former splendour.

The Chapel is rented on a weekly basis weeks with arrival on Saturday afternoon (between 16,00 - 19,00 hours) and departure on the following Saturday morning (before 10,00 hours).
Shorter stays are possible depending on availability and the season.
